This was a very good research brief. You methodically examined the US’s strategic calculations and rationale for its involvement in the Gulf region in general and in the Iran-Iraq War and in Desert Storm in particular.

You really provided an insightful analysis, which was well-structured and to a certain extent decently written. Please pay more attention to your sentence structure and syntax in future essays, as you sometimes wrote in a less clear manner.

You used a good array of bibliographical citations, which you quoted judiciously throughout your brief. You did, though, go over the word limit, which you could have avoided by occasionally expressing yourself in a more succinct manner. See further comments below.

In any case, this was a very good brief, which I enjoyed reading.
